Even PSAT/NMSQT in 11th grade can be the major factor for college admission in many cases, high school Junior and Senior students often try to score as good and high as possible for SAT they can.
SAT scale for perfect point is with 800 (Reading & Writing) + 800 (Math) = 1600.

There are many factors besides SAT score for admission to IVY Leagues, prestigious colleges, and so many top-tier public colleges in USA and around the world. However, scoring high on SAT is the very distinctive achievement and would be the strong base line to apply for your dream schools and colleges.
Certain colleges and universities are willing to offer the Full Ride scholarship (*) to NMSQT – National Merit Scholars Qualifying Test (11th Grade PSAT) finalist. This is another motivating reason you should consider and try to achieve the high score as you can.
(*) Full Ride Scholarship often includes Tuition and Fee, College within Housing + meal plan, and limited college related expenses. If college offers you this outstanding Full ride scholarship, this means simply two facts. One is that they want you as much as you want to be in. College wants you to focus on academic endeavors and creativity other than worrying any financial burden while you are in academic years. College and You are collaborating for excellence and improve the quality of college for public benefit itself and any outcome you may create or develop.
One specific student with score above is maintaining strategy and pursuing the opportunity to improve better. Each student sometimes could make a mistake even with understanding the concept of that specific question. It is okay and allowed to make a mistake or two, but if you are making same mistake repeatedly, it is recommended to work on it and practice with different approach to prevent making same mistakes over and over again.
MITT is to find and re-calibrate your assessing and processing skill for all kinds of PSAT/NMSQT/SAT math questions.
SAT could be optional or not for college admission, but unchangeable factor would be that cultivating reasoning, logic, and fundamental concept for most basic and universal mathematical approach would be needed and lasting.

IQ shall not be and is not the sole determinant for high mathematical achievement. It is rather the combination of effort, education, and working memory skills.
